Come view the Joachim Museum's current exhibit, Strike Up the Band! A history of the Dickinson City Band, on display through Spring 2012.
See historic photographs and listen to recordings of the Dickinson City Band, learn about some of the instruments found in a band and even take a crack at conducting or playing different instruments yourself with an interactive Wii Music game. Explore Strike Up the Band! online.
Recent News/Events

The Dickinson Museum Center held its annual Holiday Open House on Saturday, December 3, 2011. Live musical entertainment was provided by the Dickinson String Ensemble, DSU Chamber Singers, Dickinson Strings and a DSU instrumental ensemble. Kids were also able to make snowflakes, stars and Christmas trees in the craft room, with the assistance of DSU Student Ambassadors. And of course there were cookies, provided by Joachim Museum board members. Click on the photo to the left to see more photos from the event.

The newest exhibit at the Joachim Museum, Strike Up the Band! A history of the Dickinson City Band, opened with a reception held on November 7, 2011. Both past and current members of the Dickinson City Band were in attendance, with some current members providing live music for part of the event.

HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION SEEKS MEMBERS
Are you interested in Dickinson history? Would you like to help keep that history safe for future generations? The city of Dickinson is recruiting citizens to serve on the city’s Historic Preservation Commission. The commission is responsible for managing annual grant programs and projects that promote the National Register of Historic Places, local architecture of the community, and historic preservation in general. Dickinson residents with a background or interest in history, archeology, and architecture are encouraged to apply.
